They are contoured along the spine for an instant fit and cut to fit endurance and Western round skirt saddles. The pockets contain 1/2-inch Wool felt shims, which can be added or removed to help alleviate the pressure, creating a more comfortable ride for you and your horse. The Endurance Round shape has a 161/2-inch drop, making the overall width 33 inches, the seat drop 9 inches, and the spine of the pad 28 inches long from front to back. The Endurance Square shape has a 161/2 inch drop, making the overall width 33 inches, the seat drop 13 inches, and the spine of the pad 30 inches long from front to back. We ride in custom made treeless saddles and wanted a good fitting wool pad. The recommended pads are too expensive and not wool. If your looking at this you know the benefits of wool. We bought two styles and two different colors. We love the functionality of these pads and so do the horses. Even in Fl with high temperatures our horses have a perfect sweat pattern, yes with the saddle fit, but the wool is the best in collecting sweat and keeping our horses cooler than other material. I hate to say you will never need another pad but if you wanted a different style or color that would probably be the only reason to need another pad.
