I ordered the rug in light grey. It came well-wrapped and flattened out fairly quickly. It generally looks pretty nice. This isn’t a soft rug, but given the description, I didn’t expect it to be. The number of piles jammed into every square inch makes it seem like better quality than you would expect for the price. There are three real problems I have with the rug. (1) The rug isn’t a perfect rectangle, nor perfectly to size specifications. I had to place it on a slight diagonal in order to offset the crooked cut of the rug. (2) the cream-colored dots that make up the trellis pattern look...dirty. I didn’t expect them to be white, but they are off-white enough that they look worn even though they aren’t. I cant decide whether I wish the dots were whiter or more obviously off-white, but as it is, the color is in the uncanny valley between them and just ends up looking dirty. (3) I’ve saved my biggest issue for last. The rug sheds an unbelievable amount of wiry little hairs. I read other reviews with this complaint before I bought it. I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal. Reader, it is a big deal. When I first unrolled the rug, I vacuumed it. Then I got to work placing furniture on it and noticed that I had a million wiry little hairs sticking to me where I had knelt on the new rug. I figured if the vacuum didn’t do the trick, I would try a lint roller. I literally got down on my hands and knees and lint-rollered the whole rug, using up countless sticky sheets. Done and dusted I thought! No. Not. At. All. A few weeks later, the rug continues to shed the wiry little hairs (which are numerous and uncomfortable because they are so stiff). The picture attached to my review is a photo of the knee area of my pants after kneeling on the rug for a little while after I have had the thing for weeks. It looks so ridiculous that you might think, “oh they must have 16 dogs and cats and that’s why there is so much hair on her pants.” No reader. I have exactly zero animals. All those wiry little hairs are from the rug.If you want a rug for an area with very light traffic, where no one is likely to sit on the floor or get down on hands and knees, then I recommend the rug because it is pretty. For any other area though, I might keep looking if I were you.Because of the color I returned itAmazing! We had purchased a rug for our bedroom but we could smell the chemicals before we even opened the wrapper it was rolled up in ! Terrible! So we sent it back and went w/ wool. Unlike cotton it feels thick and so soft under your feet and no gassing off of chemicals . This rug is so great it's a must buy got the Charcoal and love it. Only with they would get the 9x12 back in stock and for a reasonable price. Don't hesitate to buy.As for cleaning a vacuum without the brush running or just a small whisk broom to get off lint but don't be to hard on it or u will ruine the wool remember think " gentle as a lamb" ...but strong for walking on so don't worryThis rug is pretty and looks PERFECT in my baby girl’s nursery. HOWEVER... it’s very stuff and wiry. To the point that you can’t sit on it because the little wiry hairs will poke you (even through your pants) and it hurts. There’s no way my baby will be able to crawl on it. Also, and this is the worst part... IT SHEDS! It sheds an INSANE amount of little wiry hairs. It doesn’t matter how many times you vacuum it... IT SHEDS. Now that my baby is 6 months old and is able to sit and play on the floor and will be crawling soon, I am replacing this pretty rug because it’s just too scratchy and sheds wayyyyy too much. Such a shame because it IS very pretty.First off I want to say this rug is absolutely precious!! It is exactly what I envisioned for my daughter’s bedroom! The perfect light blush/ rosey pink with a adorable polka dot! Now the reason I give it 3 stars is because it is not at all soft or comfortable!!! And sheds HORRIBLY!! I vacuum it constantly but still you cannot sit on it without being cover in little white hairs! I am on the search for a new rug to replace it but having trouble finding one I love as much for her room! So sad that this one won’t work because it’s beautifulPretty Rug! Thicker and nicer than I anticipated considering the great price. Be aware that the "Baby Pink" is not really a baby pink. It's more of subdued warm pink blush color so this rug, in my opinion, is more versatile and doesn't give you that baby girl-princess vibe. Also, the 'white' is not white...it's a subtle cream color. It does have that 'wool' smell to it out of the package, but dissipates soon. It's not bad at all, unless you don't like wool. :-) It was curled up slightly on the ends because of being rolled up topside in, but I rolled it up topside out overnight, and it pretty much lays flat now.Just got it, so not sure of the how it will handle the daily wear and tear of a high traffic area, but I'll follow up in a couple of months. Highly recommend a rug pad....not because it's thin, but because it's wool and it will extend the life of the carpet. Great buy. This is a nice rug overall, but some major issues. It sheds. like. crazy. You can’t sit in it without standing up to find your bum and legs covered in little white fibers. We have a Dyson vacuum and regardless of how much and often we vacuum, it continues to shed. It doesn’t hold up well to traffic, develops brown spots easily that are hard to clean. It’s a nice rug in theory if you want to place it somewhere and then never walk or sit on it or let anyone touch it. But not practical for my daughter’s nursery. Unfortunate because it looks pretty.Love 100% Wool - Always, always better than any other material(s) - For Feel; Durability; Looks; & and Maintenance ...I shop Rug Stores; Specialty Rug Stores; Furniture Stores; Accessory Stores; and On,-Line - A Lot ...AMOF - The specialty stores would charge at least $300-$500 for this Rug - So I'm Very Happy with this Purchase ...PROS: beautiful ivory and black colour, super stylish. Parisian looking style which I love. Black lines are dotted which is a nice touch of style. Nice thick lining. Professional packaging and rug aired out in 1 week. Slight scent when it arrived. Rug rolled out easily and great value for the price. No issues with sizing.CONS: upon arrival it looked dirty as the black fibres were bleeding into ivory. This got better after a lot of vacuuming. There are some thin red and blue threads woven into the ivory which is annoying. There is a lot of shedding and frequent vacuuming is needed. I use my cat comb to deal with excess shedding and also bottom of rubber running shoes (Nike) to collect the excess fibres. It’s been about 3 weeks since purchase and been vacuuming frequently. Some threads also come out easily but they aren’t hard to push back in with a pointy end of a thick knitting needle.Overall, for the price it’s a nice rug. Love the colour combo. I wouldn’t recommend for high traffic areas or to sit on it as your clothes will pickup all the shedding especially if you wear dark clothing.I decided to keep it due to great price for a stylish wool rug.DISGUSTING
