The Stetson Diamond Jim Straw Hat is the summer version of a Stetson classic! The Diamond Jim is a sleek shantung straw hat with a teardrop crown and 3 1/2 inch curled brim. Ringed with a braided black leather hat band decorated with silver diamond details and a silver buckle, this high quality hat has a lot of style and is lightweight enough for the hottest summer days. Made in the USA.

The pictures of this one are a little misleading. The sides of the brim are curled pretty sharply, and it comes to a fairly sharp point in the front. The fit is just a touch large, although it seems to be getting better as the hat conforms to my head.I wasn't that thrilled with the hat, which I bought to wear as a summer alternative to the Stetson Gun Club Pawnee that has become my new signature piece. (As much as I love that hat, a black felt hat just isn't going to cut it in a hot and humid east coast summer, unless I want to soak it through with sweat every day.) It is, of course, supposed to be the summer weight version of the Diamond Jim, not the Pawnee, so I wasn't expecting an exact match. Still, I was hoping for a closer match than I got.The hat isn't quite what I would have picked out if I had seen it up close first, but I decided to give it a try anyway. Do you want to wear a hat to look good to yourself, or do you want to wear a hat to look good to girls? My opinion of the hat grew exponentially when a random girl volunteered the opinion that "that hat looks really good" on me, and I should "wear it often."I don't like the new eyeglass frames a cute girl picked out for me either, but I went with her suggestion. Applying the same principle to the hat, it appears I have secured a new daytime hat to wear until about October or so. I sure never got this kind of reaction out of my much more expensive Panama fedora.
