The other reviewers weren't kidding when they point out that these shoes run comically, ridiculously small. Maybe most people don't know what shoe size they actually are? I'm not sure. I'm an 11 1/2 US men's shoe size and the shoe size I had to order to get a proper fit was size 13. In other words, I had to go a size and a half up from my actual shoe size before my toes weren't curled up into a ball at the end of the shoe. Are these women's shoes and mislabeled as men's? My son is a US shoe size 12, maybe 12 1/2, and he needs a size 14. Is there some stigma in the climbing community against small feet? Are people concerned that they'll feel inadequate with a proper shoe size? Is there some kind of climber pride in saying that they wear a size 15 shoe that Black Diamond is catering to? I don't know, but if you're a guy and you order, order WAY larger than what your actual, measured, foot size is. I gave these 5 stars because, once properly fit, they seem to be a wonderful beginner shoe. They're comfortable, They're fairly light, they're rigid enough to get a decent grip even on a smallish crimp, and they seem like they're built well enough to get you to the next level of shoe with a single pair.
