I’ve purchased other similar ones too.Okay, so there are some very definite pros and cons with this project, no two ways about it! I’ll start with the cons and just get those out of the way. There are several versions of this particular project, and I purchased 3 of them, so that in the end I’ll eventually have 12 canvases altogether to play with. One of the biggest cons with all of them is that NONE of these canvases uses the standard DMC color key to identify the colors of your drills, and every single canvas uses a different color key, as well, even within the individual projects, so this can get to be very confusing and frustrating if you’re not very careful about changing the labels on your drills in between projects, and making sure that you don’t try and use the same drills from one project to the next (I often do this with regularly keyed and coded DMC drills). I think this is probably my chief complaint with these canvases. Another would be that some of the lighter colors with light-colored or white numbers/letters to key them on the canvas can be VERY difficult to read, even with a magnifying glass. In some cases, I’ve even had to go in and almost re-key these canvases on my own in order to make them easier to work with. Another big complaint that I have, especially with the canvas that ranges from the very dark to very light purples here, is that the color key to this one re-uses a lot of the same numbers and letters over again, but just makes them a different color or changes the letter/number from black to white. Again, I’ve ended up with a lot of these just going in and re-keying it on my own to make it much more convenient and easier to work. There may have been some other cons with these canvases, as well, but these ones that I’ve mentioned here are, I think, my chief complaints, and the ones that I thin other potential buyers should be most aware of.I don’t think, however, that a buyer should let the above-mentioned cons put them off from this project, because there are also some really great pros, too! Like I said, I bought three of these sets altogether, so when I’m finished with these projects, I’ll have 12 little canvases to mix and match and make into a nice mural on my wall, and I think that makes a really fun little art project to play around with! I like these little canvases because each one is such a compact little size, and the individual canvases take me maybe a day or two to complete, depending on how much I dawdle over them and what else I’ve got going on while I’m working on them. So working on one of these canvases isn’t like diving into some huge project that gets very involved and requires some huge commitment, and you still get that really nice psychological sense of completion every time you finish one of these little guys, and that’s oh so important for each of us as we indulge in these projects! These little canvases are just fun and nice because, if you do end up choosing to display them once you’re finished, even though while you’re working on them, they won’t seem as weighty as, or as worthy as taking up a big chunk of wall space as a really large project that takes up a huge amount of your time and table space, in the end, they’ll be able to take up just as much wall space once you’re done with them. Not only that, but if you choose to work on multiple sets as I’ve done, you can mix and match them on your wall, or you can make a larger mural with them, and you can also just change your mural up from time to time as well, whenever the fancy strikes you. I just think these little canvases are such a great decorating idea, and they’re so much fun to work with!! In fact, I’ve enjoyed completing my own set so much that once I’m finished, I’m going to buy 12 more to make another canvas mural so I can give it to my sister as a gift.I haven’t completed these yet, and have only just begun working on the 'deep purples’ version of the canvas from this set, but I’ll include a couple of photos of these canvases from one of my other sets that actually has been completed.So as I said above, there are definite pros and cons to purchasing these canvases, and while you’re working on them, you really do need to pay attention to those color keys just to make sure everything stays in order, but if I were you, and you’re considering buying this, I would in NO way let that be a deterrent in my final decision. Go ahead and go for it, and have fun!!Love itNice little fill in projects in between large ones.I bought these pictures for my initial foray into the world of diamond art. I was very pleased with the completeness of the kit. Each picture is packaged separately with everything needed — tray, wax, drill tool, plastics drills sorted by color. The clear plastic protecting the canvas had a few wrinkles in it but they came out when I peeled the plastic back — the canvas itself smoothed out nicely with no bumps or bubbles.The adhesive holds the drills well but still allows them to be nudged into the correct alignment. I plan to use these in the guest bathroom (the towels all have seashells embroidered on them) so I may coat them with Mod-Podge to protect them from humidity. I especially like that the DMC color codes are provided and that more than enough drills are provided. I've attached a picture of my first effort — it looks better in person but I know I'm getting addicted to diamond art!love the colors and patterns. Boarded them when finished and they are perfect. will put them up after repainting the room. Now to get the other patterned set as well.These 4 diamond paintings are just the right size for a nice quick project.
