This is an amazing banjo ukulele. Great volume and a bright sound. You won't find a better one at this price point. Buying advice for any instrument: Do your research know what setup and tuning is involved and your experience will always be better. I've had my eye on the Little Gem ever since Gold Tone announced it. I went to a local store to try it out, unfortunately the local store was asking 20-30 dollars more than what the instrument was selling for online. I fell in love with the banjo uke and went online and purchased it that very day. Shipping was free (PRIME) so I got a good price. I Think Goldtone sets up all their instruments before sending out, however many of the shops that sell the product may or may not do a secondary set up on their instruments. Never pay extra for pro setup! AS the good companies offer it free and you can find How To's Online. GearTree did not state if they set it up (it did state that you would have to install the bridge because anyone who has ever bought a banjo knows you can't ship it with the bridge up), but when it arrived I could tell that it was set up at least once because it had been tuned and the strings already stretched into keeping the tone, so that only minimal tuning was required. Also installing the bridge was easy because Gold Tone provided a little guide with it. GearTree sent along some cloths/ not needed but nice, and it came in the GoldTone box with GoldTone gig bag and tools for adjusting the truss rod and pot. It came with an offer for a Miners kit from Gold Tone that includes accessories that might help depending on what accessories you might all ready have like a strap, arm guard (I end up taking the arm guard off my banjos anyway) ,and clip on tuner. I already have so don't need, but you might want to purchase. I recommend you get a reputable clip on tuner from somewhere (local music store/online works), but the other stuff is up to you and your style. You won't regret having this Little Gem in your collection. The only problem you will have is putting it down.
